About
Self-taught photographer currently based in London, whose work focuses on a contemplation of daily life and the emotive aspects of places. Although not limited to specific formats or types of cameras (mediums ranging from 35mm, 120, super 8mm, super 16mm, VHS), Darling's work, whether it be the moving or the still image, often grapples with both the fundamental unease and beauty of human existence. Reoccurring concepts of solitude, (dis)placement and transience through the documentation of subcultures and people that have been caught in the cross-hare of daily life, result in a diverse body of tangible and abstract communication.
